| INVINCIBLE
OPERATION The most outstanding feature of the PROsine inverter
line is their completely transparent operation. PROsine users will find no
difference between the power supplied by the inverter and that supplied by
the local utility company. All connected AC loads and equipment will operate
the same as they would from utility supplied power. Simply put, PROsine delivers
a TRUE SINE WAVE output, in many cases even better than utility supplied
power.
WHY TRUE SINEWAVE?
Because all electronic equipment is designed to operate from this
waveform. PROsine allows any load, within the power rating of the inverter,
to operate exactly to specification. Heavy-duty motor loads start quicker
and run cooler from a PROsine inverter than when operating from square wave
or modified sine wave inverters. To the user, this results in better equipment
operation and longer equipment life. But true sine wave is just the beginning
of the host of features these new products
offer.
TRUE SINEWAVE
OUTPUT
Tight Microprocessor control produces a perfect true sine wave. The absence
of sharp rising edges found in modified sine wave and square wave outputs
eliminates interference in audio, video, and electronic equipment. Motor
loads should start easier and run cooler and quieter without the extra harmonic
distortion from modified sine wave inverters.
REMOVABLE LCD
PANEL
The digital LCD panel provides inverter operating status and control where
you need it. DC input voltage and current are displayed numerically and a
power scale displays inverter output in watts. The panel can be rotated in
90 degree increments, depending on inverter installation. Or, mount the display
in the location of your choice with the optional PROsine Interface Panel.
This takes the place of the LCD panel on the inverter, and provides both
on/bypass control and important noise suppression. The telephone cable extension
plugs into the Interface Panel and can be routed to the remotely located
LCD panel.
EFFICIENCY CURVES
The efficiency of an inverter measures
what percentage of DC power is inverted to usable AC power. The higher the
rating, the less power is lost in the way of heat from the inverting process.
PROsine offers a flat efficiency curve over much of its operating range so
you, as the user, get the most out of your batteries (PROsine 1800i efficiency
curve shown).
DC CONNECTION TERMINALS
These terminals have been uniquely
designed to accept battery cables in 180 degrees of rotation. This novel
approach makes it easier to wire up the PROsine in tightly constrained areas
and lets the wires exit from the inverter in the most convenient fashion,
depending on the installation location.
POWER SAVE MODE
When the inverter is in this "sleep"
mode, much of the power control circuitry is shut down, as is the LCD display
back-lighting, which reduces standby current draw considerably. While in
POWERSAVE mode, the Inverter draws approximately 1.5 watts while powered
up, but with no load on the inverter. Load presence is detected by sending
pulses once every 2.5 seconds, and full output power is available with the
detection of a load. POWERSAVE mode is factory set to "OFF", and can be
conveniently toggled to ON or OFF by turning the inverter quickly OFF and
then ON again while the POWERSAVE screen is displayed in the LCD.
AC OUTPUT CONFIGURATIONS
The standard PROsine model comes
with a duplex GFCI outlet with 15A breaker or an international 230V outlet.
The unit can be configured as a "Hardwire" version with Line, Neutral, and
Ground terminals to route the AC output to your own outlets. Or, the PROsine
unit can be configured as a "Hardwire/ Transfer Relay" version with terminals
for both input and output AC and built-in transfer relay. Configured as such,
the unit can act as an automatic back-up power system, quickly transferring
to inverter power delivery in the event of failed or lost AC input
power.
WATTS PER POUND
Power conversion within the inverter
is done at a high frequency, which significantly lowers the size and weight
of transformers used in the power conversion process. This is a proven technology
used in computer power supplies and results in exceptional watts per pound
ratios. The higher the ratio is, the more power you will get per inverter
pound.
ADVANCED THERMAL DESIGN
Internal heatsinks and optimum component
layout go a long way towards keeping the inverter cool as load requirements
increase. Coupled to this is an internal "funnel" layout that improves airflow
through and over critical components that can be subject to elevated
temperatures. This allows the inverter to run longer in environments with
high ambient temperatures.
IGBT TECHNOLOGY
With advancements in components come
advancements in inverter performance. New IGBT (isolated gate bipolar transistor)
components are used in place of power MOSFETs and offer higher power switching
capability at higher operating voltages. Translation - better performance
and efficiency with reduced cost and complexity. |
