| Dashboard Pods. A dashboard pod is a binnacle that sits on top of the dashboard and is ideal for mounting a radio(s), CB extension speaker, etc. This dashboard pod is specifically designed to fit the GU Patrol. The facia layout is optional, holes can be cut to suit specific radios and other console options and accessories. Points of interest: * Designed to neatly follow the contours of the dashboard. * Attached to the dashboard with Velcro tape. There is no need to drill holes when wiring or installing the pod (see fitting instructions). * The GU Patrol is well suited for a pod, providing plenty of width and depth in the centre of the dashboard. The pod will accept two radios and is deep enough to house a large radio such as the Uniden Grant. * Upholstered in a padded vinyl or vacuum formed vinyl finish that has been specifically manufactured to match the colour and the grain on the GU Patrol dashboard. When fitted it looks like an original part of the vehicle. * Robust construction - suitably durable for "off road" driving. * Does not interfere with the windscreen demister or any other functions of the vehicle. * Two size pods available for the GU Patrol - the standard height or the "low rise" height.

| Roof Consoles. The GU Patrol centre roof consoles are mounted without drilling any holes in the vehicle. In the ST model, the front mounting bracket on the console utilises two of the original mounting points for the genuine plastic roof assembly. In the DX model, the front mounting bracket sits underneath the rear vision mirror utilising the two screws that hold the mirror in place. The back of the console is held in place by utilising the interior light screw holes. The interior light is re-mounted into a pre-cut hole in the base of the console. In the ST model, the genuine spectacle holder is also re-mounted into a pre-cut hole in the console. Unfortunately the genuine map reading lights (the light fitted to the plastic roof assembly) cannot be mounted into the console. After market eyeball map reading lights are available. All wiring can be installed without drilling any holes or cutting the trim. The wiring for the genuine interior light can be used to power your radio(s) and after market eyeball lights. In the ST model, removal of the genuine roof assembly reveals an opening in the hoodlining, our consoles have been designed to take advantage of this opening. The radio fitted into the front of the console can protrude past the top of the console, sitting in the space between the hoodlining and the turret. This design allows the console to be less intrusive and allows the front radio to sit further forward making it easier to see and operate. * Robust - manufactured from construction grade plywood. Suitably durable for "off road" driving. * Radio holes and storage openings etc. cut to suit your requirements and accessories. * Upholstered in a padded vinyl that has been specifically manufactured to match the interior of the GU Patrol. When fitted the console looks like an original part of the vehicle (also available in a vacuum formed finish). * Fits the vehicle without drilling any holes by utilising existing screw holes (see fitting instructions). * The genuine spectacle holder (in ST model) and interior light re-mount into pre-cut holes in the base of the console. * Provides maximum headroom and does not interfere with the sunvisors or any other functions of the vehicle. * Designed to house one to four radios. * Vehicle specific and custom built to suit the customer's radios, storage and lighting requirements. * |
