I was fascinated to see how useful the internet would be to solve a " diagnostic dilemma" I am a doctor in Melbourne and on several occasions when we have had a critically ill patient with an unusual or rare problem we have not hesitated to put out a help call on the internet. The reply can be very fast and on one specific occasion saved the person's life. My car was not as critical but extremely frustrating. You were spot on when you mentioned the TX valve.
